The month-long registration for the Common Management Admission Test (C-MAT) in February begins on Friday and the students can even sit for a trial test on December 12, the All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) announced.

The first computerised test for admissions in all business and management schools in the country in the coming academic year of 2012-13 will be held in 61 cities and towns from February 20 to 28.

The registration will be accepted up to January 9 and admission cards can be downloaded after January 30. There is no concession for the OBC candidates as they will have to also pay Rs 1200 like a general category candidate to take the test, while it is only Rs 600 for those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

AICTE has also approved G-MAT for the post-graduate diplomas in management. The G-MAT test will be conducted by the Graduate Management Council, the announcement said.

The C-MAT will be on four subjects with 25 questions and 100 marks each. There will be negative marking as a wrong answer will mean deduction of one mark. The subject in which the candidates will be evaluated are: Quantitative technique and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.
