Cong manifesto promises a 'clean' UP

Babri issue appears along with sub-minorities quota

Kapil Sibal along with Sam Pitroda and Rita Bahuguna Joshi released the Congress manifesto for the assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. The party promises a clean corruption free state if it comes to power.

While it reiterated its intention to bring a sub-quota for minorities in its manifesto, it also spoke of working for a equitable solution to the Babri dispute.

Releasing the manifesto, Sibal said if Congress comes to power women will be given 50 percent reservation in panchayats.

Congress has alsp promised job opportunities to the backward classes and 25 percent reservation to the SCs, STs and OBCs for the same. It has also talked of the launch of metro, infrastructure building and technological development in Uttar Pradesh.  Among others, the party has said that it would work towards building a dairy cooperative like Amul in the state.

Playing the transparency card, Sibal said that the party would also bring the chief minister under the Lokayukta if it came to power.
