Diggy is Sonia’s voice, says BJP

Digvijay Singh is a plan of the Congress to carry out a "spit-and-run" policy, says Javadekar

The Bhartiya Janata Party on Monday lashed out at Congress President Sonia Gandhi for making all sorts of insinuations against RSS and others through her general secretary Digvijay Singh. It asked her to admit that he is only voicing her viewpoint for the vote-bank politics.

Party spokesman Prakash Javadekar saw a deliberate design, a strategy in the Congress, always distancing from his statements as his personal views. It said Congress’s stand is a sheer formality as they are indefensible and no action is taken against him. Digvijay is protected since he is only speaking the mind of Sonia, he asserted.

"The Congress would have taken action against Digvijay Singh if his statements were his own and had no blessings of the Congress President," Javadekar told a Press conference at the party headquarters here.

On Digvijay Singh dubbing Baba Ramdev, Hazare Anna and Sri Sri Ravishankar as A, B and C teams of the RSS, he said it seems Digvijay Singh is a "D plan" of the Congress to carry out a "spit-and-run" policy.

He said if she is so much committed against corruption, she better answer why the Goa chief minister continues in saddle despite a Supreme Court-appointed committee and the state Public Accounts Committee (PAC) indicting him for the illegal mining scam. If illegal mining is bad in some states like Karnataka, it is equally bad in Goa, he said.

Javadekar went on to ask why no action taken against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit despite strong indictment by the Shunglu committee for her culpability in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) scam and why the Congress did not accept the Delhi Lokayukta report to sack Delhi minister Rajkumar Chauhan while crying for action against the BJP CM and ministers for indictment by the Karnataka Lokayukta.
