Don't be a dictator: Editors tell justice Katju

Justice Katju tells editors to walk out of Press Council meet

The Press Council of India (PCI) meeting held on Thursday witnessed some unexpected scenes when two senior editors stood up and asked asked unconditional apology from justice Markandey Katju, chairman of the Council.

"You are chairman of Press Council, Katju, and not a dictator" shouted a senior editor. He was joined by another.

BJP member of parliament Prakash Javdekar who represents Rajya Sabha in the Press Council tried to pacify the angry editors.

INS members of the Press Council led by Dinamalar Editor Lakhsmipathy condemned Katju's TV remakrs at PCI meet.

Katju replied that a clarification was issued and the matter was closed. "Do not threaten me, you can walk out if big arguements took place," said justice Katju.

Editors gave it back to Justice Katju. "Do we need your certificate that we are not of poor intellect, You should rethink," said the editors.
