Govt promises crop insurance for Yavatmal farmers
Govt has earmarked Rs 79 crores towards paying the premium for the insurance

Yavatmal District Guardian Minister Nitin Raut has said the Government has already paid the premium of the crop insurance to the respective companies and the farmers would get their compensation shortly.
He informed this at a meeting with senior district officials and people's representatives.
Raut, who is Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister, also took stock of the ongoing developmental works in the district.
During the monsoon session of the legislature, the Government had earmarked Rs 79 crore for paying premium of the crop insurance and the farmers would soon get their dues, he said.
This district in Vidarbha faced drought-like situation last year and the farmers were saddled with heavy financial losses.
