A special CBI court on Monday extended the judicial custody till October 3 of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy and MD of Obulapuram Mining Corporation, B V Srinivas Reddy in connection with an illegal mining case.

Both of them were on Monday produced before the special judge after six days of custodial interrogation by the CBI. The special court had sanctioned six days of custody on September 13.

After they were produced in the court at 10.30 am, the special judge sent them to judicial remand till October 3.

They were later taken to Chanchalguda central prison in Hyderabad.

Both of them were arrested by the CBI at Bellary in Karnataka on September 5.

CBI raids residences of 2 aides of Janardhana Reddy

Continuing its raids in connection with the illegal mining scam, CBI on Monday conducted searches at the residences of two aides of arrested former Karnataka minister G Janardhana Reddy in Bellary district.

Teams from the agency started the raids since morning at the residences of transporters Karapudi Mahesh and Swasthik Garek, who are both absconding, officials said, adding some more raids are expected.

Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law and and MD of Obulapuram Mining Corporation, B V Srinivasa Reddy, arrested by CBI on September 5 in connection with the illegal mining probe, are in the agency's custody till Monday.
