MP govt trying to sale land at throwaway prices: MPCC chief

Six-member committee to look into the matter
PTI | Bhopal | July 07 2011

Madhya Pradesh Congress president, Kantilal Bhuria today alleged that state BJP government was trying to make available costly land at a throwaway prices to three companies in Anuppur, Umaria and Shahdol districts.

Most of the land belonged to tribals who will become landless if the state government goes through with its scheme to help big companies, Bhuria said in a statement.

Asserting that under no circumstances his party would allow the tribal land to be handed over to the companies, Bhuria said a six-member committee under the chairmanship of former minister, Bisahulal Singh has been set up to look into the matter.

Other members of the committee include MLAs Nanhelal Dhurve, Dharmu Singh and Onkar Markam, he said.
