The Rajya Sabha is likely to sit up to 8 pm from Tuesday to discuss and dispose of numerous bills and other legislative business. There are consitutional amendments, replacing ordinaces with the bills. An announcement is likely to be made on Tuesday and a consensus of the house was being sought.

Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari is keen to conduct the business of the house in the afternoon. In this regard, he held a series of meetings with the leaders of all political parties of the upper house, and had taken the Business Advisory Committee's approval. A final decision by the chairman is likely only on Tuesday.
