Telangana boiling, KCR nephew claims threat to TRS chief's life

"Supari" already given to kill KCR, claims Harish Rao

GN Bureau | August 6, 2013

At a time when people of Telangana region are tantalisingly close to realising their long-standing dream of a separate state, the torchbearer of the movement, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), is more worried about the safety of its president, K Chandrasekhara Rao.

Harish Rao, KCR’s nephew and legislator from Siddipet, caused a flutter in Hyderabad on Tuesday when he said that a conspiracy is being hatched to eliminate the TRS president.

The sensational claims come in the wake of a high-voltage agitation currently being witnessed in the Seemandhra region against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Harish Rao claimed that some people have already given “supari” (contract to kill) on KCR.

Stressing that TRS has sufficient information to back its claims, Rao promised to pass on the information to the police. The TRS legislator warned with dire consequences if any harm is done to KCR. He also asked the state government to extend ‘Z Plus’ category security for KCR in view of the threats to his life.
