IMI mobile's My SMS allows users to recieve local language msgs

An SMS-based application which allows user to request SMS services in their native language and get messages in requested language on demand

IMImobile, an end-to-end enabler of Mobile Value Added Services on Monday announced the launch of a unique service, 'My SMS' which breaks the language barrier, enabling users to receive SMS in their very own language.

'My SMS' application from IMImobile will empower the users to access content in their local language, a challenge which has been faced by the whole telecom system for a long time in India.

'My SMS' is an SMS-based application which allows user to request SMS services in their native language and get messages in requested language on demand. It is an application which allows a user to receive SMS in his very own language irrespective of the make of his handset.

"Through this we plan to break the language barrier which has been a huge roadblock for the penetration of the telecom revolution. We want to empower users especially in the rural areas to enjoy the benefits of this revolution in their own language. My SMS application can be provided as a white-label application also for telecom operators, device manufacturers, media companies and enterprises," Vishwanath Alluri, Founder & CEO, IMImobile said.

To start with this service is available in eight major languages--English, Hindi, Telegu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi and Bangla. The USP of this service is its easy scalability of the application which allows many more languages to be added. This application is very easy to use as it does not require any keyword or short code, he added.

It’s easy backend integration allows easy addition and deletion of categories making the service more dynamic and also the menu can be customised according to operator's requirement or based on some festivals or events, he explained.
