The map controversy has again come to hound industrialist and Rajya Sabha member Rahul Bajaj.

After a lower court dismissed the complaint against Bajaj and other for allegedly misrepresenting India by showing Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as parts of China and Pakistan on their company website, a fresh petition has been filed in additional sessions judge court today.

The court of an additional sessions judge is likely to hear tomorrow the revision petition filed against the order of a magistrate, who had earlier dismissed the complaint against Bajaj saying an offence of sedition was not made out.

"The complainants (Sanjoy Sachdev and others) have remained unsuccessful to prove that website www.allianz.com belongs to Rahul Bajaj. Undisputedly, the map was not seen by the complainant witnesses on the website of the Bajaj company through hyperlink," the metropolitan magistrate had said.

The magistrate had relied upon the status report of the police in which it was said that the website belonged to the German Company and the "inadvertent" mistake has been committed by the foreign company which later rectified it.

Aggrieved by the magistrate's order, the complainants filed the revision petition before a sessions court alleging the disfigured map, in which Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir were shown parts of China and Pakistan respectively, could be located through the website www.bajajallianz.com.

Besides Bajaj, the complainants have now sought to implead Munich-based Chief Executive Officers of Allianz SE Michael Dekmann and Christopher Mascher and Kamesh Goyal, Vice President of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd as parties.

Sachdeva, a member of the Delhi Pradesh National Panthers Party, had earlier filed various judgements of superior courts in support of his claim saying, "The industrialist can be prosecuted for sedition and other offences under the IPC, the IT Act and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act."

Responding to the allegations, Bajaj had earlier told PTI that the portal, which depicted the map with the reported discrepancy, belonged to his company's insurance venture partner Allianz.
