While delivering his address at the Nasccom regional council meet at Noida, Nasscom President Som Mittal said that the software association will establish an e-governance portal by July this year which will facilitate Indian IT companies to showcase their products.

“Nasscom is also working with government to refine the government procurement process and has benchmarked the government procurement processes in countries like Singapore”, Mittal said in his address to CEOs of IT companies.

Mittal highlighted the importance of harnessing ICT for inclusive growth and mentioned the role of Nasscom Foundation towards the same.

Mittal pointed out that Nasscom has established a not for profit organization, National Institute for Smart Government(NISG) in collaboration with Department of Information Technology which now plays the crucial role of consulting to government on e-governance projects.

Harsh Lohit, MD, Headstrong and chair of Nasscom regional council in his presentation mentioned that Uttar Pradesh government was not doing enough for the IT industry.

The event was organized by the regional council of Nasscom at the Dell Perot Systems campus in Noida.
