Odisha govt leases 54 acre to DLF to build IT park

To build 4 lakh square feet office area within 24 months from the project commencement date

Odisha government on Thursday said it had leased out 54 acre of land to M/s DLF for development of an Information Technology (IT) park in Bhubaneshwar.

This was stated by IT minister Raghunath Mohanty while replying a question in the assembly. "The land was leased out in favour of DLF through the state owned IDCO (industrial infrastructure Development Corporation) in 2006," the minister said.

DLF have signed Lease-cum-Development Agreement with IDCO on November 10, 2006, the minister said adding that the DLF had agreed to the three conditions put by the state government.

While the first was to build up 4 lakh square feet office area within 24 months from the project commencement date, DLF would achieve the second by building 10 lakh Sq ft build up office space area within 48 months from the project commencement date.

Similarly, the company had to achieve the third by building 15 lakh build up office space area within 72 months from the project commencement date, the minister said.

DLF, however, got its final building plan approval from Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on February 25, 2011. "There has been no amendment in the conditions agreed between DLF and IDCO," the minister said.

As the tenure of the first had not been completed so far, the state government was not aware about the names of IT companies which would operate in the first 4 lakh sq,ft office space here, the minister said.
