Sena delegation meets Darda over online admission system

Says random and wrong allocation of colleges, low internet usage, slow servers have led to the complete failure of the system on online admissions

A Yuva Sena delegation led by Aditya Thackeray, along with principals of colleges in Mumbai, met School education minister Rajendra Darda on Tuesday to oppose the system of online admissions.

MLA and Yuva Sena spokesman Abhijit Adsul said issues like confusion among the student community, random and wrong allocation of colleges, low internet usage, slow servers have led to the complete failure of the system on online admissions. "The system has complicated matters for students. This has delayed admission process," he said.

The Yuva Sena and the principals have urged the government to shift to an online admission system and to allow colleges to keep their forms online which the students can download and submit to the colleges of their choice. Adsul said the minister has promised to set up a committee.
