NPCIL CMD S K Jain gets two-year extension

Jain has got a two-year extension with effect from today till May 31, 2012

Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) chairman and managing director Shreyans Kumar Jain has got a two-year extension with effect from today till May 31, 2012, NPCIL sources said.

Sixty-two-year-old Jain, who has been the CMD of NPCIL since January 3, 2004, has got the two-year extension for the second time, sources said.

Jain is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Ltd (BHAVINI), responsible for setting up India's Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR), which is under construction, and future fast breeder reactors.

He joined the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) in 1969 and belongs to the 13th batch of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre's Training School. He was also the President of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) from September 27, 2007 to February 2, 2010.
