CBI registers case against BEML chief Natarajan

Searches being carried out in the office and residential premises of accused persons in Bangalore and Coimbatore

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against VRS Natarajan, chairman and managing director of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) in Bangalore. The probe agency has also registered a case against CS Srivatsan, who is director of a Coimbatore-based private company and some unknown persons under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

It is alleged that VRS Natarajan and CS Srivatsan were parties in a criminal conspiracy. The two tried to cheat BEML while awarding work relating to the implementation of enterprises resource planning project causing loss to BEML and gain to private players.

Searches are being carried out in the office and residential premises of the accused persons in Bangalore and Coimbatore.
