Control rooms set up ahead of elections to report black money use

IT department set up 24x7 control room in Mumbai and asked citizens to call 1800-221-510 for necessary action under income tax laws

To curb the use of black money in the coming 2019 General Elections, gather intelligence and keep a strict watch over movement of cash and valuables and other unlawful means of influencing elections in the constituencies of Mumbai, the Director General of Income tax (Investigation) has started a 24x7 toll free number 1800-221-510.

 
Additionally the department has asked citizens to register complaints and information regarding black money circulation and its use for election purposes on landline number: 022-22820562 or  WhatsApp numbers: 9372727823 and 9372727824. Citizens can to pass on any information regarding stocking, movement and distribution of black money, cash, gold, silver, etc., on the said telephone numbers.
