Haryana mulls jail term for those who waste water

Move to save water which is wasted for washing roads

Haryana government is planning to impose three months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for damaging roads by throwing water.

According to a TOI report, PWD minister of the state, Rao Narbir Singh on May 5 said that the government will soon introduce a legislation to implement this. Under the proposed law, even those who throw water on road from a bucket will face punishment

Although the move is being taken keeping in view the damage caused to the roads, it will also save huge amount of water which gets wasted for washing roads.
