Anna Hazare will start his protest at Ramilila Maidan in Delhi on Friday, deferrring it by a day, as the venue is being prepared for the protest, close aide Arvind kejriwal has informed.

Work is now on at the ground which was left unsuitable following the last few days of rain.

Earlier report:

Anna Hazare will leave the Tihar jail on Thursday afternoon and is likely to visit the Raj Ghat before starting his hunger strike for jan lokpal at the Ramlila Ground after 3pm, his aide Kiran Bedi said late in the evening on Wednesday.

Bedi said the government should get a fresh lokpal bill introduced in parliament and have it passed "in accordance with aspirations of the people".

Replying to a question, Bedi said there was no pressure by the Delhi Police on Hazare to accept any condition.

"None of the conditions which we had earlier opposed relating to the number of people to be allowed at the protest venue and parking of vehicles were included in the Delhi Police's permission for the 14-day fast by Hazare, which is a very good and sensible sign", she said.

Bedi said there is also no bar on extending the duration of Hazare's protest from 14 days, she claimed.

"If necessity arises, Team Anna can get the fast extended", Bedi added.

Bedi said Neeraj Kumar, the director general of Tihar Jail, got the best medical attention for Hazare during the latter's stay in the jail.

Eminent cardiologist Naresh Trehan of Vedanta Medicity and government doctors would look after Hazare during his protest, she said.

Bedi said Delhi police showed great "great understanding" and she has always maintained that the city police was capable.

She said the Delhi Police, the Anna team and MCD would work together to prepare the Ramlila Ground for Hazare's protest.

Co-chairman of the joint drafting committee on lokpal Shanti Bhushan said he felt very happy that "ultimately good sense has prevailed on the government and it has agreed to permit Hazare to fast for 14 days".

Team Hazare agrees to conditions on crowd strength,  protest duration

Team Hazare has given a two-page undertaking to police on its protest fast in Ramlila Maidan, saying they would abide by existing rules and regulations and the crowd will not exceed the capacity of the ground, which is around 25,000 people.

In the undertaking signed by Anna Hazare himself and his associates -- Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, Kiran Bedi and Shanti Bhushan, they also said that if any clause of it was violated, they would be liable to be prosecuted under law.

The permission for the fast has been given till September 2, 2011, official sources said.

The clauses of the undertaking include -- no damage to public property; gathering will not exceed the limit of the ground; the crowd will not spill over to the nearby roads; the protesters will cooperate with traffic police; loud speaker use within the ambit of a supreme court order (10 PM limit).

Other clauses are: Arrangements of drinking water, medical aid, mobile toilets, proper lighting; no carrying of lathi or any weapon; no provocative slogans/ speeches; no inflammatory slogans within 200 meters of religious or worship places; public safety will be taken care of; no use of crackers.

Medical examination of Hazare and those who will keep fast along with him will be conducted by government doctors three times a day while Team Anna promised to abide by the April 16, 2009 order of the Supreme Court which stipulated rules and regulations for public protests.

The undertaking was given to the deputy commissioner of police, central district, of Delhi Police.
