The Delhi High Court today directed Air India to open the locks the offices of its employee's union which were sealed after a flash strike by its worker a month ago.

The court also sought an explanation from the management of the state-owned carrier for its decision to de-recognise the union for going on the strike.

A vacation bench headed Justice M C Garg asked the management to file its response by July 7 when it would take up the case for further hearing.

Air India had de-recognised its trade union Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU), sealed their offices and sacked 58 employees in an unprecedented crackdown on May 27.

The ACEU was de-recognised along with All India Aircraft Engineers' Association (AIAEA).

ACEU and AIAEA had gone on a flash strike on May 25 to protest a 'gag order' directing the office-bearers of National Aviation Company of India Ltd (NACIL) trade union to refrain from making public statements and harming the image of the company after the May 22 Mangalore air crash.
