The Uttarakhand assembly on Thursday witnessed pandemonium for the third consecutive day with main opposition Congress disrupting the proceedings demanding immediate discussion on the scandals of BJP government and handing over the inquiry into the scams to CBI.

Amid unruly scenes, the House was adjourned sine die abruptly.

As soon as the House was assembled for the day, members belonging to Congress were up in arms asking the Speaker to suspend the Question Hour and allow them to raise the issue of alleged scandals to the tune of crores of rupees unearthed during the four and a half year tenure of BJP government.

The members later trooped into the well to press for their demand.

The members were also holding the placards listing various scandals like Mahakumbh scam, Natural disaster relief fund scam, Rishikesh housing scam and hydel project allotment scam.

They wanted that the inquiry into the alleged scams be handed over to the CBI and shouted slogans like "send the corrupt to jail."

Speaker Harbans Kapoor asked the members to take their seats and participate in the Question Hour but the agitated members did not pay heed to his repeated pleas.

As the pandemonium continued for some time, Kapoor adjourned the House first for 20 minutes till 1130 hrs, then till noon and again till 1220 hrs.

When the House reassembled at 1220 hrs, the obituary reference of former Congress MLA Yogambar Singh Rawat was taken up. But after that, the Congress members again jumped into the well to raise their demand.

As the pandemonium continued, the state government completed its listed business quickly before the session was adjourned sine-die abruptly.
