TRS leaders today undertook 'padayatra' in Telangana region to highlight their demand for separate statehood.

"Congress came to power after promising separate Telangana. But it is delaying formation of separate state in the name of committees, commissions and all-party meetings. We are undertaking the 'padyatra' to expose the Congress," TRS MLA and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao's nephew T Harish Rao told reporters.

The 'padayatra' will cover the region till November 21, party sources said.

The foot march is part of the agitation programme finalised by the TRS politburo which met on November 10.

Meanwhile, the Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) Convener M Kodandaram demanded that Telangana leaders in Congress and TDP must put pressure on their party leadership for passing a resolution in the state in the coming assembly session, taking a leaf out of the book of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, for formation of separate state.
