SC/ST, OBC entrepreneurs to get loans upto Rs 5 lakh: Dikshit

Raised the limit from Rs one lakh

Entrepreneurs from SC, ST, OBC and minority communities will now get loans of upto Rs five lakh from Delhi government instead of Rs one lakh, chief minister Sheila Dikshit announced on Tuesday.

"We have decided to raise the existing limit of Rs one lakh to Rs 5 lakh," Dikshit said after laying the foundation stone of a Women Wing in an ITI.

The government provides loans to youths from SC, ST, OBC and minority communities for self employment as well as to start entrepreneurship.

Claiming that her government has been putting special emphasis on improving skills of youths in the city, she said the facilities at ITI, Nand Nagri are being expanded as part of the effort.

MP Jai Prakash Aggarwal, revenue minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, and senior officials of education department were present on the occasion.

The women wing will cost around Rs 3.50 crore. Dikshit also announced that a new ITI in North-East Distric will be set up soont.

Speaking on the occasion, Aggarwal complimented the city government for ensuring all-round development.
