BroadcastAsia 2012 to focus on OTT Technology

With cloud based technologies and services increasingly adopted to deploy software and hardware solutions broadcasters are being compelled to utilize increasing distribution platforms

With average annual growth rate of double percent digits, Indian Media and Entertainment Industry registered revenues of US dollars 16.3 billion in 2010 and is expected to be in excess of 25 billion US dollars in next four years as per Ernst and Young report. There are 600 television channels, 100 million pay TV households, 70 000 newspapers and more than 1000 films produced annually.

The 17th International Digital Multimedia and Entertainment Technology Exhibition and Conference  to be held at Suntec, Singapore, from June 19-22,2012 will showcase a range of latest technologies, applications, equipment and solutions in film, audio and TV with a spotlight on multi streaming technologies, playout services, pro-audio technology, over the top technology (OTT), cloud broadcasting and digital radio. The 2012 edition of BroadcastAsia will focus on OTT.

Other technologies like video content delivery network (video CDN), digital radio solutions, DVB-T2, file based and digital media asset management etc will also be showcased.

With cloud based technologies and services increasingly adopted to deploy software and hardware solutions broadcasters are being compelled to utilize increasing distribution platforms. Multi screen connectivity with portable devices enabling flexible personalization of multimedia content will become norm.

CommunicAsia 2012 will feature breakthrough developments in next gen networks, broadband and satellite technology and latest mobile applications and solutions, while EnterpriseIT will address entire ICT ecosystem will showcase international software and IT systems providers and companies offering enterprise solutions like cloud computing, data centre services, security, video conferencing , M2M, software to mobility solutions. The CommunicAsia2012 Summit will have forums and workshops to address issues and challenges for the ICT industry with the spotlight on mobile-driven trends like m-Commerce, mobile VAS, and mobile security issues, mobile payments, mobile health, customer experience management (CEM), and OTT business models.

Speaking on the conference, Calvin Koh, senior project manager for BroadcastAsia said, “through BroadcastAsia the Indian broadcast industry will get the opportunity to showcase their latest technologies and also get access to the ideal platform for networking, interaction and business procurement of the highest international quality."

CommunicAsia2012 and EnterpriseIT2012 will be held at the Marina Bay Sands.
