Commonwealth Games 2010 may grab the headlines for its scandals and missing deadlines but for the student of Delhi university it is the reason of their eviction from their hostels.

All colleges with hostel facility in north campus of Delhi university, except St Stephen's, have asked students to vacate rooms so that renovation can take place for the Games. The rooms are being renovated and beautified to accommodate guests during the period of the Games and students will be able to return only by October end. As many as 2000 students have been evicted and these students are voicing their anger against the Games. Signs of this are visible on the walls of colleges in North Campus, in the shape of anti CWG slogans.

Though, some colleges have lended a helping hand to its students by either accomodating them somewhere else or by providing them free food for these three months.
