Days after his TV show highlighted malpractices in the medical profession, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been invited to address a parliamentary panel to give his views on FDI in the pharmaceutical sector.
The 47-year-old actor and his creative team will be in Parliament on Thursday to share their research on the subject of medicines, said his representative.
Aamir, who recently highlighted the issue of malpractices prevalent among doctors and sale of medicines in one of the episodes of his TV show 'Satyamev Jayate', has been invited by the head of the parliamentary committee for commerce, Shanta Kumar.
Aamir's show, which went on air May 6, has highlighted social issues like female foeticide, child sex abuse and domestic violence.
After Aamir's TV show exposed the malpractices in the medical profession last month, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) demanded an apology from the actor accusing him of defamation.
But the actor refused to apologise to IMA saying he is ready to face any legal action threatened by it.
