Advani to speak to Jayalalitha on Monday
Presence of ADMK MPs in parliament is needed to expose coalgate
GN Bureau | New Delhi | August 24 2012
Senior BJP leader LK Advani wants the presence of ADMK MPs on Monday in parliament to expose UPA-II coalgate scam.
Advani is to phone Jayalalithaa on Friday to suggest that she may ask her MPs to remain in Delhi on Monday. ADMK MPs are to participate in the ADMK general council meeting being held in Chennai on August 29.
Hectic behind the scene political activities were on by NDA leaders to ensure the presence of Opposition parties in both houses next week.
New Delhi is agog with speculation that BJP leaders are being tipped off by Congress leaders about the possible pressure on prime minister on coalgate scam to result in for early polls. The PM is upset that if the uncertainty continues before his Iran foreign visit, PM may depute a senior colleague to represent in India in NAM. Singh always brings pressure on Congress and threatens to cancel his foreign visit. Such indications are now available with senior BJP leaders but there is no confirmation about who is masterminding such from Congresss.
When Opposition got this tip-off the floor coordination by Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley on Thursday with like-minded parties got activated. It is a strategy of BJP leaders to project future NDA allies in parliament during debates and while exposing UPA-II.
It is Sushma Swaraj and Ravi Shankar Prasad who suggested to LK Advani to call up Jayalalithaa to explain to her the urgency of ADMK MPs presence in both houses on Monday.
On coalgate, ADMK gave suspension of question hour, but Jayalalitha has not issued public statement. Sushma Swaraj spent considerable time with Thambidurai ADMK leader on Thursday to know the stand of Jayalalithaa.
