Andhra Pradesh governor ESL Narasimhan met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting lasted for 45 minutes and a source indicated that both the leaders discussed the current political situation in the state.

According to the source, Gandhi heard the governor’s point of view and his assessments. She thanked him for his analysis of the Telangana issue while the two also discussed possible packages for the region.

The Congress president has been asking visiting AP leaders questions regarding the Telangana issue. These articulated points shall be presented at an all-party meeting likely to be convened by the union home minister in mid-October.

Informed source said that there shall be a solution rendering equality to all the regions in the state. Indications are that in the next one fortnight there can be a happy news from union government for the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The AP governor also met vice-president Hamid Ansari and briefed him about the state. The two were together for half an hour. Narasimhan is likely to meet the prime minister, finance minister, home minister and defence minister on Friday, before returning to the state.
