Delhi’s third e-sub registrar office opened

Online, hassle-free registration of properties to help eliminate touts

GN Bureau | February 13, 2013

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated Delhi’s third e-sub registrar office at Vivek Vihar on Wednesday. The earlier two were opened at Mehrauli and Rohini last year.

This marks a quantum leap by the Delhi government’s revenue department in its effort to make the public experience of registration and stamping completely modernised and user-friendly.

Speaking on this occasion, Delhi revenue minister Arvinder Singh said the department intends to completely eliminate the menace of touts and middlemen by making the entire registration process transparent and accessible.

Facilitation counters at the e-sub registrar office will help the applicants at every step of registration. All details regarding the registration process, including downloadable pdf formats of all deeds and stamp duty calculator, are available on the department’s website. The e-sub registrar office at Vivek Vihar will cater to Vivek Vihar sub-division. The task of constructing the building of the e-sub registrar office at a sanctioned cost of Rs 4.30 crore was entrusted to the Delhi tourism and transportation development corporation, which completed the work in just two months.  The same model will soon be replicated at remaining DC offices very soon.
