Gautam Budha Nagar (Noida) district magistrate Ravikant Singh, who had given clean chit to suspended IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, has been transferred.

Hiralal Gupta will replace Singh as Noida's new DM.

Ravikant singh, much to the chagrin of the state government, had supported Nagpal, who was suspended on the charge of demolishing a wall of a mosque without taking into consideration the communal trouble it could have created. 

Singh, as then DM, and immediate superior officer of SDM Nagpal, in his report submitted to the government had said, there was no anticipation of any communianl disharmony in the area where the Naglpal had ordered the demolition. 

Singh had come in for sharp criticism from the leaders of the ruling party for giving ‘false report’ about the suspended SDM.
