BJP's senior leader K Laxman and Tamil Nadu unit president Pon Radhakrishnan and scores of workers courted arrest here on Friday as part of its nationwide 'Jail Bharao' protest to highlight "failures" of Congress-led UPA and demanding complete rollback of hike in petrol prices.

The agitating BJP leaders and around 250 supporters courted arrest at Meenambakkam, police said.

Protests were held at 15 places in Chennai, party sources added.

BJP had earlier announced the one-day agitation demanding complete rollback of the Rs 7.50 per litre hike in petrol prices though government had effected a partial withdrawal of around Rs two.
