PM continues to get more and more bad press abroad
Washington Post calls him “a dithering, ineffectual bureaucrat presiding over a deeply corrupt government”
GN Bureau | New Delhi | September 05 2012
The Time magazine called him ‘underachiever’. Today, the Washington Press has some more choicest epithets to describe prime minister Manmohan Singh.
“But the image of the scrupulously honorable, humble and intellectual technocrat has slowly given way to a completely different one: a dithering, ineffectual bureaucrat presiding over a deeply corrupt government,” writes correspondent Simon Denyer in a report published today in the daily.
The report carries this headline: “India’s ‘silent’ prime minister becomes a tragic figure”. You can read the full report here.
