Nomination papers of Pranab Mukhejee are getting ready. Senior union ministers and members of parliament are being called to the parliament house to put their signatures on them, sources said on Wednesday.

By 11 am, rural development minister Jairam Ramesh, defence minister AK Antony, parliamentary affair minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, home minister P Chidambaram, HRD minister Kapil Sibal and health minister Gulam Nabi Azad had arrived at Parliament House to sign the papers.

Congress plans to get a total of fifteen nomination papers signed: ten from union ministers and five from allies. A special messenger had taken forms to Chennai to get Karunanidhi’s signatures as he is an MLA, eligible to sign the papers.

Three members of the legal cell of AICC are carefully filling up the forms. Retired election commission and Rajya Sabha officials have also been engaged to assist the AICC officials with technical details.
