Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Thursday said his government has decided to use the latest technology to give stress on development projects.

Technology like Aadhaar cards and Global Positioning System (GPS) would also ensure that the government's welfare schemes like old-age pension and antodaya yojna reach bonafide beneficiaries, Munda said.

The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a fair in Saraikela during his tour to review development works in Seraikela-Kharswan district.

Stating that everyone in the state would get the Aadhaar card soon, he said the bio-metric system would be linked with Aadhar card for proper distribution of benefits under the government's welfare schemes.

Munda said the vehicles engaged in implementing welfare schemes would be equipped with GPS to help officials monitors implementation of the schemes.

Besides, introduction of these technology would help the government monitor the development work across the state from one place, he said.

Munda also announced to set up a Horticulture Research Centre in his home district of Seraikela-Kharswan.

The Kolhan region comprising of East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan districts have plenty of scope for growth of horticulture as well as medicinal plants.

Munda also inaugurated various schemes worth over Rs 84 crore online and distributed bicycles among girl students at the fair.
