Aadhaar integrated pension disbursal in Chandigarh soon

The new system of pension likely to be launched within a fortnight

More than 18,000 pension beneficiaries in Chandigarh including widows, differently-abled, underprivileged and old people will be able to get their pension amount directly into their account if they hold Aadhaar number.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), in collaboration with UT administration, is likely to launch this new system of pension within a fortnight.

The city administration is also thinking of launching more facilities which would require use of Aadhar cards. According to UIDAI and administrative officials, 8,000 beneficiaries have already been shortlisted, and notices were issued to nearly 10,000 pensioners advising them to get the Aadhar cards made at the earliest.
