Akshaya to launch 40 G2C services

More government services through e-programmes

With Akshaya transforming itself from e-literacy programme to a facilitaor of government to Citizen services (G2C), Kerala government plans to launch nearly 40 G2C services under the e-district programmes through Akshaya Centres.

'The pilot project of 40 G2C services will be launched in one month in Kannur and Palakkad districts, which will eventually be implemented across the state', IT Pricipal Secretary Ajay Kumar said here today.

He was Speaking at the foundation day of Akshaya, ICT project by the Kerala Information Technology Mission to bring the benefits of this technology to the entire population of the state.

The Akshaya Centres would be front-end for G2C services of all departmentss. Free software developed by National informatics Centre would helo to add new G2C services in real time, he said. The project would be completed by March 2011.

Akshaya Director Korath V Mathew said the Akshaya centres in the past eight years has grown in network presence, competence, credibility and reliability.
