BEST power consumers can pay bill via Internet, mobile phone

Service to be available in next three weeks

Standing in long queues for paying electricity bills is set to become a thing of the past for lakhs of Mumbaikars.

Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) today passed a proposal, wherein, a consumer can pay electricity bill through Internet or mobile phone.

"Consumers using BEST's electricity can pay their bills through debit or credit cards via Internet or mobile.

The service will be made available in the next three weeks," BEST General Manager O P Gupta said.

Civic-run BEST is one of the power utilities in the metropolis and supplies electricity of some parts of the financial capital.
