BSNL officials in nexus with private mobile service providers: BJP

BJP complains of 'poor' BSNL services in J-K, demands CBI probe

PTI | July 13, 2010

Claiming that BSNL services were unsatisfactory in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP today demanded a CBI probe to find whether its officials were in nexus with private mobile service providers in the state.

"There seems to be a nexus between the higher officials of BSNL and private operators of mobile services in J&K as BSNL was providing poor services to its customers in the state," BJP state general Secretary Sat Sharma alleged.

He said there have been repeated complaints about the working of BSNL in the state with customers facing problems due to poor connectivity.

"A thorough inquiry by CBI needs to be conducted to see if BSNL officials are intentionally doing all this to force customers to abandon their BSNL connections and switch over to mobile services of private operators," he said in a statement.

Sharma said the party activists will be forced to come on roads and stage protests against BSNL if the Union Ministry does not order the inquiry.
