CII organizing tenth edition of event in Chennai

'Connect-2010' focusing on IT and related sectors will be held here on September 8 and 9.

It is being organised by Confederation of Indian Industry, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

"CII is organising 'Connect-2010', the tenth edition of country's premier (IT) event, at Chennai Trade Centre in order to create a vision for the next ten years," event Chairman and Executive Director Tata Consultancy Services S Mahalingam told reporters here today.

Stating that the event has been organised annually over the last ten years, he said, 'Connect' series has given impetus to the development of IT and related sectors in Tamil Nadu and has promoted government collaboration and projects.

He said more than 200 companies were expected to participate in the two-day event.

Mahalingam said the event has been broadly classified into three spheres comprising smart sourcing, ecosystem and innovation and entrepreneurship.

"The event will feature three keynote panel discussions on 'smart sourcing -- the future of India, ecosystem -- future focus, and entrepreneurship and innovation feature and theme- based sessions," he said.

Union Communication and Information Technology Minister A Raja would be the chief guest and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin would deliver the valedictory address on the second day.
