EC Media International today launched its e-book reader--Wink XTS, which would enable readers to access e-books, journals, newspapers and magazines.

"With the launch of Wink, we want to enable the growth of content provisioning through the electronic medium by leveraging its existing eco-system of global partnerships with publishers and aggregators," EC Media International's Chief Operating Officer, Pradeep Palazhi, told reporters here.

The product would offer consumers a one-stop e-store to access the e-reading content through its website--www.thewinkstore.com, from where readers could download e-books and periodicals on the e-reader.

"With the Wink brand, we aim to build an ecosystem of players that fosters e-readers' market by leveraging the best of technology to the consumers," Palazhi said.

Palazhi said that the e-reader would provide access to about 2,00,000 titles to readers along with some newspapers and magazines as well.

The company has tied-up with around 100 publishers and authors for posting their contents on the website from where the consumers could get an access to their favourite books.

Besides, EC Media would also provide e-newspaper through its soon-to-be-launched WINKWIRE service. "We would tie up with media houses and wire service agencies like PTI, UNI and Reuters for providing news updates, which would be available to the Wink consumers on one screen," Palazhi said.

The company has tied-up with Croma, promoted by Infiniti Retail, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, as its retail partner.
