Former Bhoj varsity VC Kamlakar Singh's e-mail password hacked

Hacker wrote letters to contacts for financial assistance

PTI | August 25, 2010

Former Vice-Chancellor of Bhoj Open University Dr Kamlakar Singh went through several anxious moments after the password of his e-mail was hacked recently.

Dr Singh told PTI here today that the person who hacked his password wrote a letter to all people on his mail saying that he was in London where he was robbed of all his money.

The letter requested his friends to send 13,000 pounds as early as possible through the Western Union and promised that the money will be returned on his coming to India.

One of the persons who got this letter was Congress MLA Ajay Singh who was surprised since he had spoken to Singh a few hours before he got the e-mail.

Ajay rang up Singh, only to find him at Bhopal.

Singh also received calls about the fake e-mail from a number of his friends including those living abroad.

He said that most of them were able to decipher that the e-mail was fake and that his password had been hacked by some mischief monger.
