A new duplication software has been introduced in all districts of Haryana to check entries in voters' lists made by a single person more than once, the state's Chief Electoral Officer Sumita Misra said today.

Action would be taken under the provisions of the Representation of People Act, 1950, against those whose names were found registered in more than one constituency and for any constituency more than once, she said.

Misra also said that the entire process of addition and deletion of names in electoral rolls would soon be made an online process.

While presiding over a meeting of all recognized national and state political parties in the state here, she urged them to send the polling station-wise lists of their Block Level Agents (BLAs) soon.

She also asked them for their cooperation in the special summary revision of electoral rolls to be commenced from November 10, 2010.

The Block Level Officers' (BLOs) lists would be displayed online by next week, Misra said.

"We are in the process of preparing BLOs Guide Book so that they could be acquainted with dos and donts while making summary revision of electoral rolls," she said.

Misra said that for the first time the existing application form for inclusion of names in electoral rolls had been made bilingual to facilitate the electors.

She claimed that the voter enrollment ratio and photo identity card ratio of Haryana is the best among other states of the country.

"We were continuously improving it and had deleted bogus votes in the last revision," she said.

The draft publication of electoral rolls would be made by November 10, 2010, and claims and objections could be filed between November 10 and November 30, 2010, Misra said.
