HCL Axon partners with Sybase for mobile solutions

Mobile solution to help deliver SAP capabilities to utilities, travel , financial services

HCL Axon, a division of HCL Technologies, today announced a development and go-to-market alliance with enterprise and mobile software developer Sybase.

Built on Sybase's platform, the mobile solution will help HCL deliver SAP capabilities to industries such as utilities, travel and logistics, oil and gas and financial services, HCL Technologies said in a statement.

Globally, number of mobile workers (employees working on mobile devices) is expected to grow to over 35 per cent of the worldwide workforce by 2013, representing more than 1.2 billion people.

"The demand for anytime, anywhere access to SAP solutions using mobile devices has never been stronger. Our partnership with Sybase allows us to deliver instant value to our customers around the globe," HCL Axon Executive President (Solution Management) Ian Greenhalgh said.

HCL Axon will roll out the first mobile solution for the travel and transportation industry, helping railroad companies support their maintenance and inspection in the field.
