JK handloom products e-marketing site goes online

www.poshish.in to sell products including Royal Pashmina Shawls, Kashmiri embroidery pashmina shawls

Set to reach out to customers across the world, J&K State Handloom Development Corporation (JKSHDC) has launched its "e-marketing Portal" to target a business of Rs 2 crore. 

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia inaugurated the e-marketing portal for J&K State Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC), for online marketing of world famous products being made by the Corporation.

The Minister informed that the corporation in collaboration with Say Technologies, J&K's, largest Software and Web Development Company, have launched E-marketing website "www.poshish.in" to sell their products including Royal Pashmina Shawls, Kashmiri embroidery pashmina shawls, fine quality Basohli Shawls, Harris Tweed, poshish blankets, fine cotton item in the national and international market.


JKHDC has set online sale target of Rs 1 to 2 crore. Slathia said that the coalition government is committed to upgrade this vital sector for overall development of woollen textile in the state besides raising the socio-economic status of artisans of the state especially those living in hilly and far off pockets.

Slathia said the main aim of introducing e-marketing is to revive and upgrade woollen industry in the state and to exploit the "tremendous potential of indigenous wool and woollen products of J&K at global level".

He said with the introduction of e-marketing, the state's economy will receive much needed fillip besides generating employment for the rural youth.

Slathia asked the employees to work with full zeal and dedication to achieve the sales target besides fulfilling aim and objectives of the corporation.
