Lok Satta Party today announced that it would launch a two-week long campaign from November 26 to protest against the 2G spectrum scam that cost the exchequer about Rs 1,76,000 crore.

Youths and students led by the party will flood the Prime Minister's Office with post cards, e-mails, faxes and one rupee money orders as a mark of protest against the scam, party chief Jayaprakash Narayan told reporters here.

The campaign that will continue till December 9 -- World Anti-Corruption Day, will demand from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh immediate cancellation of 2G spectrum allocations, recovery of the losses, and institution of an anti-corruption commission, he said.

Narayan called upon the youth and students to transcend party affiliations and raise their voice against corruption, which undermined their hopes for a better future.

He regretted that all mainstream political parties focused on "peripheral issues", like demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee, instead of pondering over how the loss caused by collusive corruption could be recovered.

Replying to a question, Narayan said that the Bihar verdict demonstrates that people would vote back a party to power if it provides relatively better governance.
