Max Healthcare today said it has adopted cloud computing, which will enable doctors to access patient's data from across all facilities, thus speeding up treatment and services.

"The cloud environment will provide access to data across the various centres from a common point. This means that a patient of the Saket unit can get treated at any of the other facilities and doctors would have access to his records," Max Healthcare Institute CIO Neena Pahuja said.

Cloud computing refers to a pay-per-use model, where applications and software are accessed over Internet and not owned by users, which results in saving on IT budget to the company.

The deployment is a part of the 10-year deal signed between Max Healthcare and Dell Services (formerly Perot Systems) in September last year.

As part of the deal, Dell Services will provide IT management and Electronic Health Records (EHR) implementation to Max Healthcare.

"Dell Services has moved the IT infrastructure of the eight Max Healthcare facilities onto the cloud platform, which will be remotely run from Dell Services Data Centre in Noida," Dell Services India Healthcare Lead (APJ Public Sector Services) Pankaj Gupta said.
