In a bid to preserve old official records, the municipal corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be digitising its property records.  The digitising process will also include manually made layout plans.

According to a Hindustan Times report, civic officials said that this step has been taken to preserve old records that were kept manually. Quoted in the article, a South corporation official explains, “Some of the old ones have started deteriorating. To preserve these years-old records, this move has been initiated.”

Once the records have been digitised, all the information will be uploaded on the corporation website. The facility to access the data online will also be made available to various government agencies and organizations which need information regarding properties from civic agencies.
