Mumbai exam panel to reach via social media

If mooted, recommendation may bring a major overhaul to the exam system in the state

GN Bureau | September 11, 2012

A state government panel in Mumbai has uploaded its recommendations, which may bring a major overhaul in the exam process in the state, on a social networking site to reach out to as many students as possible.

According to the recommendations made, students in Mumbai will soon be able to apply for re-evaluation of their exam papers online across universities in the state. They will also be able to check their results on their cell phones.

If the recommendations are adopted, several examinations in the state will be decentralised and A-rated colleges will be allowed to conduct their own exams. Universities have been asked to explore the option of holding online exams for certain courses.
