Passport officers' conference to begin from Tuesday

To review the implementation of the mission mode project to set up 77 passport seva kendras across the country

Passport officers from across the country will share experiences and be apprised of the latest policy decisions and developments at a two-day conference in the Capital from Tuesday scheduled to be inaugurated by External Affairs Minister S M Krishna.

Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai will also address the conference which will review the implementation of the mission mode project to set up 77 Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) across the country.

Such conferences are being held regularly in order to facilitate exchange of views and experiences among the passport officers, as well as, to update them on latest policy decisions and developments, an official release said. Presently, 30 PSK are functional all over India.

A workshop will also be held on Wednesday on the topic "Leadership and Transition Management" by Tata Consultancy Services which is partnering the Ministry in the project.
