PM to take stock of cyber preparedness

DGPs conference expected to discuss an institutional structure for cyber security offering cyber forensic services to law enforcement agencies

In the three-day annual DGPs and IGPs conference scheduled for September 6, prime minister Manmohan Singh will review the security situation of the country.  Among others, the recent violence in Assam and the exodus of people from the north-east from some states in the south and the west, and cyber threats are some of the issues which will come up for discussion.

In wake of rising cases of cyber threats and the recent taregetted messaging to northeastern people, the conference is expected to discuss an institutional structure for cyber security  offering cyber forensic services to law enforcement agencies.
